Macon County Commission members shall continue to hold office for four-year terms following the effective date of this act.

Members representing District 2 and District 4 shall have their current terms extended for two years, resulting in six-year terms to establish staggered commission terms.

After the extended terms for District 2 and District 4 members expire, all county commission members and the at-large chair shall serve four-year terms.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
