• Amends Section 6-5-332.3 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to update regulations on automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and their use.

• Requires persons or entities acquiring an AED to ensure expected users complete training in CPR and AED use through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or other nationally recognized organizations that include instruction on psychomotor skills and current evidence-based emergency cardiovascular guidelines.

• Mandates each AED manufacturer provide in-service training materials on AED use and operation to every person or entity who acquires the device.

• Requires persons or entities acquiring an AED to notify local emergency communications centers of the AED's location and type, and to notify again if ownership changes.

• Exempts individuals using an AED in emergency settings who are acting as good samaritans from the act's requirements; effective three months after passage and approval.
