AL HB3

Adds a new prohibition to Alabama Code Section 13A-11-61.2 that prohibits any person from knowingly possessing or carrying a firearm inside a place of worship used by a bona fide nonprofit religious organization, even with a concealed carry permit.

Violation of this prohibition is classified as a Class C misdemeanor.

Exempts law enforcement officers engaged in lawful execution of their official duties from the firearm prohibition.

Requires that the person or entity with authority over places of worship post notice at public entrances alerting visitors that firearms are prohibited.

The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon becoming law through other means.
