Removes jurisdictional restrictions that previously limited Miles College police officers to the campus and property of Miles College only.

Allows Miles College police officers to exercise the same duties and powers as police officers appointed by other state colleges and universities under Alabama Code Section 16-22-1.

Requires Miles College police officers to carry and be trained in the proper use of nonlethal weapons designed to incapacitate targets while minimizing fatalities and permanent injury.

Mandates that police officers appointed under this section must be certified through the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission.

Became effective immediately upon passage by the House on May 12, 2015, and approval by the Senate on June 4, 2015.
