Amends Alabama Code Section 45-36-231.02 to authorize the Jackson County Sheriff to sell abandoned or stolen firearms to the highest bidder if the owner does not claim the firearm within six months of recovery.

Requires all bidders to be legally eligible to purchase firearms in Alabama and subjects bidders to background checks that verify they have no records prohibiting firearm ownership.

If a bidder is legally prohibited from purchasing firearms, the firearm must be re-auctioned and the bidder's money refunded; all sales must be conducted on a cash basis.

Directs proceeds from firearm sales, after deducting recovery, maintenance, and sale expenses, to be paid to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement purposes.

Permits the sheriff to establish procedures to destroy firearms using sheriff's office funds as an alternative to sale.
