HB364 - Equal Pay Remedies and Enforcement Act

• Establishes the Equal Pay Remedies and Enforcement Act to address wage disparities between men and women, and between minorities and non-minorities in the state.

• Creates the Equal Pay Commission with 9 members appointed within 90 days: 2 business representatives, 2 labor representatives, 2 civil rights advocacy representatives, and 3 higher education/research experts in wage statistics.

• Commission must conduct a full study of wage disparities in public and private sectors, factors causing disparities, economic consequences, and propose legislative and other actions to eliminate wage discrimination.

• Commission shall report findings and recommendations to the Speaker of the House of Representatives by the tenth legislative day of the 2015 Regular Session for transmission to the Governor and Legislature.

• Act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
