• Adds hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection to the definition of "infected health care worker" requiring notification to the State Health Officer, alongside existing HIV and hepatitis B virus (HBV) requirements.

• Authorizes the State Board of Health to designate additional diseases beyond HIV, HBV, and HCV that infected health care workers must report to the State Health Officer.

• Requires infected health care workers performing invasive procedures to notify the State Health Officer and cooperate with investigations and practice modifications before continuing such procedures.

• Establishes an expert review panel process to evaluate infected health care workers' practices and recommend practice restrictions or limitations necessary to protect patients and the public.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
