HB434 Summary

• Requires all county superintendents of education to be appointed by the county board of education, except where the Alabama Constitution of 1901 provides otherwise.

• Applies when any currently elected county superintendent's term of office expires or when a vacancy occurs in an elected position before the end of the term.

• Repeals all conflicting laws and becomes effective immediately upon passage and gubernatorial approval or upon otherwise becoming law.
