• Increases the Department of Revenue fee for issuing and processing motor vehicle titles from $15 to $25 per transaction.

• Applies the increased fee to seven categories of transactions including applications for certificates of title, replacement or corrected titles, titles after transfer, security interests, lienholder assignments, ordinary certificates upon surrender of distinctive certificates, and title history requests.

• Maintains the $1.50 commission retained by designated agents for each transaction processed, with the remaining fees remitted to the department.

• When multiple transactions are processed on a single vehicle with proper documentation, the fee is charged as one transaction with the department receiving $25 instead of multiple transaction fees.

• Effective date is the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
