• Proposes a constitutional amendment to change the Jefferson County Board of Equalization from an appointed to an elected body, effective after the next general election following ratification.

• Establishes staggered initial terms with two members elected for four-year terms and one member elected for a six-year term; all subsequent terms are four years.

• Board members take office at the same time as county commission members and select a chair from among themselves.

• The elected board supersedes the existing Jefferson County Board of Equalization and Adjustment and maintains the same powers, duties, and salary structure under general law or local law.

• Election shall be held in accordance with Amendment 555 to the Alabama Constitution and state election laws, with ballot description provided by election officials.
