• State Department of Education shall develop and post guidelines on its website about sudden cardiac arrest symptoms and warning signs for students, parents, and coaches.

• Students and parents must sign an acknowledgment annually confirming receipt and review of sudden cardiac arrest information before participation in athletic activities.

• Each coach must complete a sudden cardiac arrest training course annually (such as Simon's Fund course) and may not perform coaching duties without current certification within the previous 12 months.

• Students exhibiting fainting or cardiac symptoms (shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, racing heart rate, extreme fatigue) must be removed from play and cannot return until cleared in writing by a medical professional.

• Local boards of education shall enforce minimum penalties for violations: first violation results in suspension for the remainder of season; second violation extends suspension through the next season; third violation results in permanent coaching suspension.
