HB675 Summary

• Amends Section 45-2-120.08 of the Alabama Code regarding the Baldwin County Personnel Appeals Board composition and operations.

• Establishes a five-member Personnel Appeals Board with two members appointed by county commission, two selected by classified employees through voting, and a fifth member selected by the other four members within 30 days.

• Removes the requirement that appeals from the Personnel Appeals Board to circuit court be conducted de novo, changing circuit court appeals to nonjury trials.

• Allows employees within seven work days to appeal any adverse county commission decision to the Circuit Court of Baldwin County.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
