HB 693 - Spanish Fort City Boundary Expansion

• Alters and extends the corporate boundaries and limits of the City of Spanish Fort in Baldwin County, Alabama by adding 31 annexation parcels of contiguous territory.

• The annexation parcels include subdivisions, commercial areas, and undeveloped land in and around Spanish Fort, with detailed legal descriptions provided for each parcel.

• Annexed territory becomes subject to all City laws and ordinances, with the City Council exercising the same jurisdiction as over existing corporate limits.

• Requires approval by qualified electors residing within the territory to be annexed through a referendum to be held between August 1, 2015, and December 1, 2015.

• City of Spanish Fort shall pay all costs and expenses for the referendum; the Act becomes operative immediately if a majority of votes cast are "Yes," and has no effect if the majority votes "No."
