HB9 Summary

• Amends Section 34-25-22 of the Alabama Code to require polygraph examiner license applicants to submit two complete sets of fingerprints to the Board of Polygraph Examiners.

• Requires the State Bureau of Investigations to conduct a state criminal history background check and forward fingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigations for a national background check.

• Mandates applicants provide written consent authorizing release of criminal history background information to the Board of Polygraph Examiners.

• Requires applicants to pay all costs associated with the background checks and fingerprinting.

• Directs the Board to keep background check information confidential, except when necessary to support denial of a license or when subpoenaed by a court.
