• Licensed motor vehicle rental companies may authorize employees or authorized representatives to offer or sell insurance coverage without requiring individual insurance licenses.

• Rental companies must provide brochures or written materials at every rental location that clearly summarize coverage terms, disclose potential duplication with existing policies, state that coverage is optional, and explain claim filing procedures.

• Employees and authorized representatives may not be compensated primarily based on the number of customers purchasing insurance but may receive compensation incidental to their overall compensation.

• Rental companies are exempt from 40-hour prelicensing courses, written examinations, and continuing education requirements, and must conduct training programs for employees on available coverage types.

• All insurance sales must be connected to and incidental to vehicle rentals with rental periods not exceeding 90 consecutive days; insurance coverage includes personal accident, liability, personal effects, roadside assistance, and emergency sickness protection.
