Recognizes the University of South Alabama's redesignation as a four-year National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and Cyber Defense, covering 2014 through 2021 school years.

National Center of Academic Excellence program established by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security to promote higher education and research related to protecting the nation's information infrastructure.

University of South Alabama offers specializations in networking security and digital forensics (since fall 1998), graduate information assurance programs (since fall 2009), and a new cyber assurance undergraduate degree program (since fall 2014).

University created a Center for Forensics, Information Technology and Security in 2009 to advance knowledge in digital forensics, information technology security, and information assurance.

Legislature extends sincere best wishes to all associated with the university's cyber security program and directs preparation of an official resolution copy for the university.
