Recognizes Officer R.F. Hubbard of the Montgomery Police Department as a nominee for the 2015 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

Officer Hubbard responded to a theft in progress at Walmart, 3801 Eastern Boulevard on October 5, 2014, and was shot multiple times by an armed suspect while attempting to make an arrest.

Despite being struck in the right forearm and right shoulder and grazed in the neck, Officer Hubbard continued standing in the line of fire to protect customers and away from the suspect's focus.

Officer Hubbard retreated to warn customers and employees of the danger and directed them to seek cover, demonstrating courage and quick thinking while disregarding his own safety.

The legislature directs that Officer Hubbard receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of admiration and esteem for his willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice to preserve lives.
