Recognizes Officer Josh Heflin of the Decatur Police Department as a nominee for the 2015 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On March 19, 2014, at approximately 8:58 p.m., Officer Heflin discovered a house fire at 819 19th Avenue in Decatur and learned that Keith Harris was still inside the residence in the kitchen area where the fire originated.

Officer Heflin entered the burning residence through heavy smoke, located Harris who was confused and suffering from smoke inhalation, and safely evacuated him from the house.

Directs that Officer Heflin receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem for his demonstrated quick thinking, diligence, and courageous actions in preserving a life.
