• Commends Sergeant Cameron Richard Bates of the Clanton Police Department for being selected as the 2014 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

• Sergeant Bates graduated from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Reserve Academy in 2001 and began his law enforcement career with the Chilton County Sheriff's Office.

• He joined the Clanton Police Department in 2002 and has served 15 years faithfully serving citizens of Chilton County, currently assigned to the South Precinct.
