Wenonah High School Lady Dragons defeated Brewbaker Tech 49-29 on February 28, 2015, at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center to win the Class 5A Girls State Basketball Championship.

Team achieved an impressive 32-3 overall season record with back-to-back championships in 2014 and 2015 under Coach Emanuel Bell, his third championship title.

School's historic championship record includes titles in 1949, 1986, 1990, 1993, 2004, 2014, and 2015.

Named players include Kaiyleia Peeples, Jayla Morrow, Kourtnie Smith, Barbara Garrett, Dastani Davidson, Faith Reynolds, Alexus Dye, Tywanna English, Trinity Thrasher, Kaitlyn Rodgers, Khlia Stanley, Keyaira Browdus, and Naomi Thomas, along with coaching and support staff.

Alabama Legislature honors and commends the Wenonah High School Girls Basketball Team for their achievements and extends best wishes for the future.
