Recognizes Aimee Rainey, principal of Florence Middle School in the Florence City School System in Lauderdale County, as the 2015-2016 Alabama Middle School Principal of the Year by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals.

Rainey earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi (1998), a Master's Degree from the University of South Alabama (2003), and an Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University (2010).

Rainey has served as an educator in Alabama for 16 years, including 11 years as an administrator, and pioneered the virtual school program at Florence Middle School.

Led efforts to implement a 1:1 student-to-iPad ratio for instruction using the Edmodo platform and iPad textbook portal, allowing teachers to collaboratively develop lessons with new instructional technology tools.

House adopted the resolution on June 3, 2015, and the Senate adopted it on June 4, 2015.
