Rename the 25-mile stretch of the Tallapoosa River in Tallapoosa and Chambers Counties from the Tallapoosa County Canoe Trail to the Harold Banks Canoe Trail.

Harold Banks, a Dadeville resident, solo paddled the entire 258 miles of the Tallapoosa River in 2009 from Paulding County, Georgia to Fort Toulouse near Wetumpka, Alabama.

Banks was instrumental in having the Tallapoosa River officially named to the Alabama Scenic River Trail in 2014 and led the canoe trail committee beginning in 2013 to develop the original trail, informational map, and brochure.

Request appropriate officials to place and maintain signs or markers designating the renamed trail.

Present a copy of the resolution to Harold Banks and his wife Amy as a token of esteem and respect.
