Recognizes Alabama State Trooper David Box as a nominee for the 2015 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On December 11, 2014, Trooper Box was conducting a traffic stop in Marion County when a westbound tractor trailer crossed onto the roadway shoulder, striking his patrol vehicle and throwing him into a drainage ditch with serious injuries.

Despite severe injuries that rendered him immobile, Trooper Box remained alert and calm, directing witnesses to check on the motorist and tractor trailer driver while instructing the truck driver to help stabilize his body to prevent further injury.

Trooper Box was airlifted first to Druid City Hospital and then to The University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital for emergency surgery, demonstrating unwavering commitment to place the safety of others before his own.

The House of Representatives honors Trooper Box for his quick thinking, courage, and selfless service to Alabama citizens and directs that he receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
