Albert Westbrook "Buck" Compton, Jr. is recognized and commended for his induction into the Auburn University Agricultural Alumni Association Hall of Honor.

Mr. Compton operates a 1,200-acre cattle and timber farm in Marengo County, Alabama, and has maintained one of the largest Charolais herds in the South.

He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute in 1954 with a degree in Agricultural Sciences and served in the U.S. Air Force as an airman and lieutenant.

Mr. Compton has held leadership positions in numerous cattle-related organizations including serving as President of the Alabama Charolais Association, American International Charolais Association, and Alabama Cattlemen's Association; he was named Seedstock Producer of the Year by the American International Charolais Association in 1998.

A copy of this resolution shall be presented to Mr. Compton in recognition of his contributions to Alabama's agricultural industry and his legacy of excellence.
