Recognizes Officer Daniel Aguirre of the Birmingham Police Department as a nominee for the 2015 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

Officer Aguirre and his partner Officer Richard Hulska encountered two suspects matching a robbery description on April 24, 2014, in the early morning hours in eastern Birmingham.

During the field interview, one suspect brandished a handgun at Officer Hulska; Officer Aguirre used his Taser to subdue the first suspect and engaged the second suspect, who pointed a gun at both officers.

Officer Aguirre fired his duty weapon at the armed suspect, preventing the suspect from shooting and causing him to drop the weapon, which Officer Aguirre then secured.

The House of Representatives directs that Officer Aguirre receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem for his actions.
