Commends First Lady Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama for delivering the commencement address at Tuskegee University on May 9, 2015, and welcomes her to Alabama.

Recognizes Mrs. Obama's role in the Reach Higher Initiative, designed to inspire American students to pursue post-secondary education through professional training programs, community colleges, or four-year universities.

Acknowledges Mrs. Obama's career as a lawyer, writer, and advocate for poverty awareness, higher education, and healthy living, with emphasis on her work with youth and service to communities.

Honors Tuskegee University as the first black college designated as a Registered National Historic Landmark and the only black college designated a National Historic Site.

Directs that a copy of this resolution be presented to First Lady Obama as a welcome and token of gratitude from the Alabama House of Representatives.
