Commends Captain Charles Ronald Eddings for outstanding professional achievement and leadership as commander of the largest division in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Recognizes Eddings' law enforcement career beginning with the Lipscomb Police Department on September 2, 1976, and his service with Jefferson County Sheriff's Office since April 1, 1979, in positions including Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, Special Weapons and Tactics Supervisor, and Lieutenant before promotion to Captain in 2008.

Honors Eddings' receipt of the Medal of Valor for preventing a suicide and a Commendation of Leadership while serving on the Violent Crimes Task Force in "Operation Unity."

Acknowledges Eddings' educational achievements including graduation from the College of Continuing Studies at University of Alabama in Leadership and Certified Governmental Accounting, and multiple Jail Supervision certificates from the National Sheriff's Association.

Notes Eddings' work providing life enrichment programs for female inmates and service as Regional Field Coordinator for the National Institute of Corrections in 2014.
