• Recognizes the Alabama Parent Teacher Association on the occasion of its 97th annual convention held April 24-25, 2015, at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery, Alabama.

• Notes the Alabama PTA was founded in 1911 and has over 50,000 members in more than 300 local units working to make every child's potential a reality through family and community engagement.

• Credits the Alabama PTA with advocating for and establishing programs including kindergarten classes, child labor laws, public health services, hot and healthy lunch programs, juvenile justice system improvements, mandatory immunizations, arts in education, and school safety.
