Alabama Holocaust Commission will hold its 2015 State Yom HaShoah Commemoration on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the State Capitol in Montgomery, with Governor Robert Bentley as the speaker and Holocaust survivors and Second Generation members in attendance.

Yom HaShoah was instituted in Israel in 1951 as a day of commemoration for the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust.

Alabama Holocaust Commission was established by legislation in 1999 to foster understanding and promote Holocaust education, with duties including enhancing public awareness of the Holocaust's consequences and significance.

House of Representatives recognizes and honors the memory of lives lost in the Holocaust and recognizes the April 14, 2015, Yom HaShoah Commemoration as an occasion to enhance public awareness of the Holocaust's consequences and significance.
