AL SB140

Amends Section 32-6-150 of the Alabama Code to allow distinctive license tags for motorcycles and motor-driven cycles issued by colleges and universities participating in the distinctive tag program or environmental distinctive tag program.

Removes the existing language that explicitly prohibited motorcycle and motor-driven cycle owners from obtaining collegiate distinctive tags.

Requires distinctive tags to be issued, printed, and processed the same manner as other personalized tags and remain valid for five years.

Distinctive tag fees equal the standard personalized tag fee of $50 annually, with colleges and universities responsible for design approval and production cost payments to the Department of Revenue.

Takes effect on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
