Amends Section 2 of Act 1225 (1969) establishing the civil service system for the City of Northport in Tuscaloosa County to move attorney positions from the exempt service to the classified service.

Removes positions of attorneys rendering legal services from the exempt service designation, making them subject to the classified service requirements.

Classified service positions are paid from the city's general fund or board and commission funds and are subject to civil service regulations unless specifically placed in the exempt service.

Becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
