SB 274 Summary

• Amends Section 16-9-24 of the Code of Alabama 1975 relating to county superintendents of education.

• Removes the requirement that county superintendents of education maintain an office at the county seat by changing "is hereby required to" to "may" in the statute.

• Retains all other provisions regarding county board discretion to provide assistants, professional qualifications, and county commission responsibility to supply office quarters and equipment.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
