Amends Section 16-27-1, Code of Alabama 1975, to authorize local boards of education to implement policies for transporting students to and from extracurricular activities without using school buses.

Required policy provisions must address how students may be transported and who is authorized to transport them.

Requires written consent from the parent or legal guardian of each student before non-bus transportation is used.

Private vehicles used for transportation must be lawfully registered, properly maintained, and properly insured.

Drivers of private vehicles must be lawfully licensed and must strictly adhere to all motor vehicle laws and rules of the road.
