Amends Section 25-4-73 of the Alabama Code to change the unemployment compensation benefit calculation formula for eligible individuals who are totally or partially unemployed.

Changes the wage disregard amount from $15 to one-third of the weekly benefit amount when calculating weekly benefit payments.

Applies to weeks beginning on or after July 3, 1983, with earlier weeks continuing to use the previous calculation method.

Maintains existing one-week waiting period with no benefits payable during the first compensable week within a benefit year, effective August 1, 2012.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
