Mourns the death of Mr. Elmer "Doyle" Shaw, who lived 82 years and passed away leaving a significant void in his family and community.

Recognizes Shaw's military service in the Air Force, his 1959 Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Alabama, and over 30 years as a Principal Engineer with Southern Services in Birmingham.

Honors Shaw's extensive coaching career in the 1960s-1980s at Shades Mountain and Hoover, where he was widely known as "Coach Shaw" and positively impacted countless young athletes, plus his service as President of the W.A. Berry High School Athletic Association.

Notes Shaw's personal life including his 62-year marriage to Sara Jean Shaw, two sons (Steven Doyle Shaw and Stanley Gene Shaw), one grandson (Zachary Stanton Shaw), and his active membership in Bluff Park United Methodist Church.

Senate adopted the resolution on April 14, 2015, and the House of Representatives adopted it on April 16, 2015, offering tribute to Shaw's legacy and sympathy to his family and friends.
