Names Room 316 of the Alabama State House as the "Mitchem-McDonald Committee Room," the traditional meeting room of the Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry Committee

Honors Senator Hinton Mitchem, who served 36 years in the Legislature (4 years in the House of Representatives and 32 years in the Senate), served as President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and chaired the Alabama Special Olympics for 18 consecutive years before retiring in 2010 and dying in January 2013

Honors Albert McDonald, who served two terms in the Alabama Senate, was elected Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Industries for two terms, and was appointed by President George Bush as State Executive Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Station and Conservation Service in 1991; McDonald was inducted into the Alabama Agriculture Hall of Honor in February 2014 and died in summer 2014 at age 83
