Recognizes Balagee Govindan, a resident of Hoover, Alabama and United States Chess Federation Certified Scholastic Chess Coach and tournament director, for his contributions to K-12 chess activities in the state.

Commends Govindan for encouraging hundreds of children to participate in chess and developing unique teaching programs that enhance students' reasoning, cognitive skills, and mental acuity.

Acknowledges that chess programs in Alabama's public and private schools improve students' concentration, self-esteem, academic performance, and friendship building.

Designates Balagee Govindan as Alabama's 2015 Scholastic Chess Coach and Tournament Director and directs that a copy of the resolution be provided to him.

Senate adopted the resolution on May 21, 2015 and House of Representatives adopted on May 26, 2015.
