• Recognizes Dr. Farrell Seymore, principal of Opelika High School in Lee County, Alabama, as the 2015-2016 Principal of the Year for Alabama by the National Association of Secondary School Principals and Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals.

• Dr. Seymore earned a Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University in 1997, a Master's Degree in 2001, and a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in 2011; has served as an educator for 18 years and administrator for 13 years.

• Transformed Opelika High School's culture into a student-centered learning environment through professional learning communities and book studies, resulting in increased advanced placement course participation and rigorous course offerings.
