Recognizes Aimee Rainey, principal of Florence Middle School in the Florence City School System, as the 2015-2016 Middle School Principal of the Year by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals.

Rainey earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi (1998), a Master's Degree from the University of South Alabama (2003), and an Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University (2010).

Rainey has served as an educator in Alabama for 16 years, with 11 years of experience as an administrator.

Under Rainey's leadership, Florence Middle School pioneered a virtual school program and implemented a 1:1 student-to-iPad ratio using the Edmodo platform and iPad textbook portal for instruction.

The Legislature of Alabama commends Rainey for her exemplary contributions to education and providing high-quality learning opportunities for students.
