AL SB47

Expands existing law to allow the Speaker of the House of Representatives and President Pro Tempore of the Senate to designate representatives on any multi-member body created by legislative act, rather than only specific bodies.

For bodies composed exclusively of legislature members or legislature members and the Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker may designate a House member and the President Pro Tempore may designate a Senate member to serve in their place.

For bodies not composed exclusively of legislature members or legislature members and the Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker and President Pro Tempore may designate any person to serve in their place.

Designees serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority and may be removed at any time.

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and Governor approval.
