Authorizes health care providers to refuse to perform or participate in health care services (abortion, human cloning, human embryonic stem cell research, sterilization) that violate their conscience if they provide written notice at least 24 hours in advance.

Prohibits discrimination against health care providers based on declining to participate in conscience-objecting services, including hiring, termination, demotion, wage reduction, or denial of privileges.

Provides immunity from civil, criminal, and administrative liability for health care providers who object in writing, except in life-threatening emergencies where no alternate provider is available.

Allows courts to award injunctive relief, reinstatement to prior position, and back pay for violations of the act.

Excludes abortion clinics licensed by the State Board of Health from these protections and does not modify existing Alabama medical liability laws.
