Amends Section 36-7-22 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to reduce mileage reimbursement for state officials and employees traveling in privately owned vehicles for official business.

Sets reimbursement rate at three-fourths of the mileage rate allowed by the Internal Revenue Code for income tax deduction purposes, rather than the full IRC rate.

Applies to persons traveling for the state and its Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches, departments, institutions, boards, bureaus, commissions, councils, committees, and other agencies.

Requires reimbursement be made no later than 30 calendar days from the date the request is initially received by the appropriate authority.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
