• Applies to Class 3 municipalities organized under Act 618 of the 1973 Regular Session and requires city councils to adopt procedures for investigating police shootings, police brutality, and other police misconduct within 90 days of enactment.

• Establishes procedures for compensating victims or heirs at law of victims for injuries or death resulting from police shootings, brutality, or misconduct.

• Allows claims for investigation and compensation to be filed at any time by the victim or, if the victim died, by their heirs under law.

• Repeals all conflicting laws and becomes effective immediately upon passage and Governor approval.
