Amends Section 34-17A-3 of the Alabama Code to expand the definition of marriage and family therapy to explicitly include the diagnosis of mental and emotional disorders, not just assessment and treatment.

Adds "psychotherapy" to the list of services included in marriage and family therapy practice alongside individual, group, couple, sexual, family, and divorce therapy.

Clarifies that the terms "diagnose," "assess," and "treat" do not authorize marriage and family therapists to perform acts outside their training, including administering psychological tests, admitting patients to hospitals, prescribing drugs, or using electroconvulsive therapy.

Prohibits licensed marriage and family therapists from describing or labeling any test, report, or procedure as "psychological" or a "psychological evaluation."

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
