AL HB37

Proposes a constitutional amendment to Alabama declaring it public policy that workers cannot be denied employment based on labor union membership or non-membership.

Prohibits agreements between employers and unions that deny employment to non-members or require union membership as a condition of employment.

Forbids employers from requiring employees to become or remain union members, or conversely, from requiring them to abstain from union membership.

Prohibits employers from requiring employees to pay union dues, fees, or other charges as a condition of employment.

Amendment applies only to contracts entered into after ratification; existing lawful contracts and their renewals or extensions are grandfathered in.
