Amends Section 13A-6-23 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to create an enhanced penalty for menacing when directed at law enforcement officers.

Makes threatening a law enforcement officer with a pistol, firearm, or other deadly weapon a Class C felony, rather than the standard Class B misdemeanor for menacing.

Defines law enforcement officers according to Section 36-21-40 of the Code of Alabama 1975.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.

Exempted from Amendment 621 constitutional requirements regarding local expenditures because it defines a new crime or amends an existing crime definition.
