HB410 Summary

• Municipal judges or magistrates in the City of Muscle Shoals may assess a $100 warrant recall fee to recall a failure to appear warrant for municipal ordinance violations.

• The warrant recall fee must be paid by the defendant at the time the warrant is recalled.

• Warrant recall remains discretionary and the city is not required to recall any issued warrant.

• All warrant recall fees collected by the City of Muscle Shoals Municipal Court shall be deposited into the City of Muscle Shoals Corrections Fund and allocated in conformity with Alabama Code Section 11-47-7.1.

• The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
