• Renames the deputy circuit clerk serving the Bessemer Cut-off Division of the Tenth Judicial Circuit to "Circuit Clerk of the Bessemer Division" throughout state law.

• Amends Sections 12-17-80 and 12-17-98 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to reflect the new title while maintaining all existing duties, powers, and responsibilities.

• The Circuit Clerk of the Bessemer Division shall continue to be elected by qualified voters every six years and must reside within the territorial jurisdiction.

• Requires the office holder to take the same oath, enter into the same bond, and exercise the same authority as other circuit court clerks in Alabama.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
