• Amends Section 34-13-1 of the Alabama Code to delete references to "the sale of funeral merchandise or funeral supplies" from the definitions of "funeral directing" and "funeral director."

• Removes language stating that funeral directing includes "the making of financial arrangements for the rendering of these services or the sale of this merchandise or supplies."

• Removes language from the funeral director definition regarding "the sale and selection of funeral supplies" from financial arrangement activities.

• Effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
