Individuals providing policy-related advice for compensation to state agency officers or directors in the Executive Branch must be paid only from public funds, whether directly or indirectly.

"Officer or director" is defined as an officer or employee of any Executive Department agency, department, office, or instrumentality who has decision-making authority or control over policies affecting that entity.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
